My Father, My Hero

I went on a little adventure these past 2 days trekking throughout San Diego, camera in hand, to capture a few photos of my dad’s work. He’s a general building contractor, which means he builds beautiful homes for people to live in. As far back as I can remember I’ve visited him on job sites, nailed spare nails into scrap wood, ran around newly framed houses and admired his craftsmanship. My dad can do anything.

Here’s a few photos from back in the day…

My mom and I cruising around while my dad worked on building the house (or maybe he was taking this picture, hehe). I’m sure Becky was playing in the dirt somewhere.

This is the house I grew up in. My parents built it in 1987/1988 and we moved out in 2007. I was so sentimental when we left that a family friend, who is also an artist, did a painting of the house for me from this photo. Maybe someday I will share it with you. It’s beautiful.

This is where I live now (of course my Dad built it). I call it the “studio”. The right side is mine and the left side is my Dad’s shop.
